On November 7th we organized an open workshop and roundtable to celebrate the Science and Innovation Week on the Spanish National Center for Cardiovascular Research. Under the title “What is the relationship between cardiovascular disease and cancer?”, thirty students from 15 to 16 years old attended the event along with their teacher and other participants.
The participants got familiarized with the RESILIENCE project in an activity lead by Andrea Moreno, research cardiologist at the Translational Laboratory for Cardiovascular Imaging and Therapy at the CNIC, along with Noemí Escalera and Beatriz Beltrán, manager and nurse respectively of the project. Participants showed their interest in the RESILIENCE project raising interesting questions and doubts about how our project is developed to help patients have a strong heart when being on treatment for cancer so they may keep on with their lives with a healthy heart when it is finished.
On Friday September 27th 2024 from 11:00 to 12:30 h we also organized an open activity in the framework of the European Researchers’ Night, the workshop and roundtable “RESILIENCE: Survive cancer with a strong heart” at CNIC. The European Researchers’ Night is a project that supports the careers of researchers and is celebrated in more than 350 European cities.
RESILIENCE H2020 is a project funded by the European Commission to reduce the incidence of heart failure in patients who have overcome cancer.
