Infanta Leonor University Hospital joined the RESILIENCE project in September and with its participation in this clinical trial we continue to grow with the aim of providing a higher quality of life to patients who have overcome cancer, with the reduction of possible cardiac complications due to oncological treatment.
The Infanta Leonor University Hospital is located in the capital of Madrid, in the Villa de Vallecas district. It opened in 2008, being the first general public hospital to open its doors in the Spanish capital in 31 years. In parallel to its intense healthcare activity, the Hospital has a strong research vocation. It has national awards and recognitions, such as the EFQM Seal of European Excellence 400+, TOP 20 Hospital Awards (seven editions between 2010 and 2018), ‘Nursing in Development’ Award 2018, ‘Best in class’ Award 2016 for ‘Best Project for the Humanization of Health Care’, 2000 Health Award for Health of the Community of Madrid 2011 in the ‘Care Management’ category, and the 2010 Medical Economics Award in the ‘Public hospital with best mixed management’ category, among others.
According to the World Health Organization, the incidence of cancer is expected to increase by 70% in the next twenty years. Knowing these data and the high survival rate resulting from effective treatments, from our RESILIENCE project we work every day to reduce the toxicity that may occur in the hearts of patients.
