RESILIENCE helps you survive cancer with a strong heart

RESILIENCE Multi‑Stakeholder Event 2026: “Survive cancer with a strong heart”

Join us at the leading European meeting in cardio‑oncology, held within the Cardio Oncology Congress 2026 in Vienna.

On 19 June 2026, the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), through the ESC Council of Cardio‑Oncology, will host the second multi‑stakeholder meeting of the EU‑funded RESILIENCE project, supported by the European Commission.

This event will bring together healthcare professionals, researchers, industry partners, specialist media, patients, and patient organizations to share the latest scientific results in the field.

Exploring emerging therapies for cancer therapy induced cardiotoxicity

The meeting will gather members of the RESILIENCE Consortium alongside global leaders in cardio‑oncology to present new insights on:

  • Cardiovascular toxicity in onco‑hematology clinical trials
  • The role of cardiac imaging in Cardio‑Oncology Trials
  • Mental health across the cardio‑oncology journey
  • Patient experiences and direct dialogue with researchers

The event will be held fully on‑site during the Cardio Oncology Congress 2026 in Vienna.

Opening session with leading figures in cardio‑oncology

The session will be introduced by:

  • Borja Ibáñez, Scientific Coordinator of RESILIENCE and Scientific Director at CNIC
  • Teresa López‑Fernández, Chair‑elect of the ESC Council of Cardio‑Oncology
  • Frans Weidinger, Past President of ESC 2024–2026

RESILIENCE: advancing EU efforts against cancer

The ESC Council of Cardio‑Oncology, together with the ESC Advocacy Committee, has contributed significantly to the EU’s Beating Cancer Plan through several joint initiatives at the European level.

It is in this context that the EU‑funded project RESILIENCE was conceived, as a natural result of these advocacy efforts to improve prevention, diagnosis, and management of cancer therapy‑related cardiotoxicity.

Within the project, the ESC Council of Cardio‑Oncology plays a key role as leader of the work package on dissemination and exploitation of results, ensuring broad visibility and uptake of the project’s outcomes.
