RESILIENCE has expanded the spectrum of patients who can enter its clinical trial. Thus, those people with breast cancer being treated with anthracyclines who meet the criteria assessed by their oncologists may be eligible to participate in the trial.
The remote ischemic conditioning (RIC) to which these cancer patients will have access within the RESILIENCE trial will allow them to enhance their cardiovascular health to prevent possible complications and enjoy a better quality of life, during and after cancer treatment.
The hospitals active in recruiting these patients are Hospital Universitario La Paz, Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre, Hospital Universitario Fundación Jiménez Díaz and Hospital Clínico Universitario de Salamanca, in Spain; and University Hospital of Düsseldorf (UDUS) in Germany.
The first patient with breast cancer has already joined the RESILIENCE clinical trial on February 11th at the La Paz University Hospital in Madrid.
